So, who is dinkybox?

dinkybox is a UK based company, founded during 2004 by a small (dinky) group of creative types.
Each of us have (or still do) work within the gaming, video and design industry. After realising our common passion for collecting toys (spured on all the more with birth of our our sprongletts) we came up with the idea of promoting the work of our fellow creative's by pulling together our resources in order to create a friendly (dinky) on-line toy/manga art suppies store, and if, in the process we are able to get first dibs on all the new cool stuff in the name of 'research', well, so be it :)

If you love this stuff too and feel that you want to pop something into your box, then that's just the icing on the cake and we thank you most kindly indeed. We will always try to locate a goodie for you if we don't have it in stock. Most of all dinkybox is about the toy and small press comic community and we hope that our dinky little site goes some way to promoting the work of toy and comic pioneers everywhere!

How can l buy your goodies?

Simply navigate our store via the goodie list on the left hand side of the screen.When you find a goodie you would like to buy, click on the dinky 'pop in box' icon. Once you have finished popping goodies into your box, simply click the 'GO TO CHECKOUT' button above. You can add or remove items at this stage and, if you so wish, you can go back a step and shop some more!

Once you are happy with your purchase and you progress though the checkout pages, you will be asked to choose a postage option. Once you have chosen your prefered mehtod of posting you will be asked to select a payment mehtod. We are happy to say that we can accept payments via your credit, swtich, and debit cards and also via PayPal.

Once your payment has been made you will receive a confirmation email .If you haven' t received a confirmation email please contact us via 'help@dinkybox.com' and we will look into this for you. Once your cleared payment has reached us, we will do our best to dispatch your order within 2 business days :)

The legal bit - When you receive confirmation of your order, this only indicates that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you notification that your goodies have been dispatched. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

We can only process orders via PayPal Payments if the PayPal account has been VERIFIED.In addition, we can only accept Protx payments which are linked to 3D secure. Both methods of payment processing offer you and us the maximum level of payment protection against fraudulent use. If you pay via an eCheque please expept a delay in payment processing by up to 15 working days.An alternative payment method would be via Protx or to link a credit card to your PayPal account.

PLEASE NOTE: We area UK based company and, as such, all prices stated are in UK Sterling. If you live outside of the UK, your payment company will convert the UK Sterling total into your own currency based on the exchange rate of day.

Postage options and postage prices...

Once dispatched dinkybox has no control over the actual arrival date of your goodies. In addition, if any package is returned to us due to non collection (from your post office for example) under no condition will the postage price be repaid. Sorry. Once posted the act of collecting your package lays with you and your postal provider. Goodies can only be re-sent if the postage price is paid. If you do not wish to hae your original purchase re-sent we can offer a credit note for the value of your returned purchase. If you would prefer a refund then a handling charge of 10% will be deducted from the cost of the goodies. Once again, your postage costs cannot be refunded. Sorry.

We make every effort to keep your postage costs a low as possible. We only charge you what the Royal Mail charges us plus a very small amount towards packaging materials. All goodies are mailed via a RECORDED delivery service. The following information is a quick guide which hopefully illustrates just how low our postage costs are. Cool!

UK and Channel Islands
Prices start from £2.00 via SCR (Second Class Recorded Delivery). Insurance cover included up to £36.00*
(Please note: SCR posting has been suspended until December 27th 2008).
Prices start from £2.90 via FCR (First Class Recorded Delivery). Insurance cover included up to £36.00*
Prices start from £6.00 via SGD (Special Guaranteed Delivery Date). Insurance cover included up to £500*

Ireland and Europe:
Prices start at £4.90 for goodies and packaging with a combined weight of 100g or less.
Each additional 100g (up to 1000g) will be charged at just £0.50 per 100g.
Insurance is included up to £36.00 *
All goodies are mailed via International Recorded Delivery which requires a signature upon arrival.

Worldwide:
Prices start at £5.90 for goodies and packaging with a combined weight of 50g or less.
Each additional 100g (up to 1000g) will be charged at just £1.00 per 100g.
Insurance is included up to £36.00*
All goodies are mailed via International Recorded Delivery which requires a signature upon arrival.


AND NOW FOR A BIT MORE DETAIL...

ALL PACKAGES NO MATTER WHERE THEY ARE HEADING are posted via RECORDED DELIVERY.
A signature will be required upon arrival. We are happy to post your goodies to your work or home address. Any goodies returned to dinkybox due to non collection from your local Post Office or due to an incorrectly supplied address can only be re-sent if you re-pay the postage costs. Sorry.

UK - SCR (Second Class Recorded Delivery)
Any amount of goodies plus packaging material up to100g can be posted for just £2.00 and with a maximum price of just £3.85 for goodies (plus packing materials) up to1 kilo this is our most economical postage option. If a slightly longer delivery time isn't a problem for you and saving money is a priority then opt for this postage method.
Please note: due to a high demand for goodies to arrive in time for Christmas, we have suspended SCR post until December 27th 2008.

UK - FCR = (First Class Recorded Delivery)
Looking for that perfect combo of good prices and good delivery times, then opt for FCR where prices start from £2..85 (for goodies plus packaging materials up to 250g). The real super deal here is that our top price for this postage option is a dinky £4.85 so no matter how many goodies you pop into your box, the most you will pay for postage is less than a fiver. Super Cool!
Please note: Goodies posted via FCR should arrive in time for Christmas but this cannot be guarented. Please opt for Special Delivery if you are purchasing a Christmas gift. And remember, if you Spend £25.00 or more, Special Delivery will only cost you £2.00 (yep, just £2.00). Now that's a Happy Holiday Offer!

SD - (Special Delivery) - This is a GUARANTEED delivery date service.
Buying a pressie, need it yesterday or worried about insurance coverage? Then opt for Special Delivery!
Special Delivery guarantees to have your goodies with you within 3 business days (please note that business days exclude weekends and all public and national holidays).
SD prices start from as little as £6.00 (for goodies and packaging up to 500g). Insurance is included up to £500*


*Insurance will be paid up to the stated amount or for the full invoice value, whichever is the lesser.






When will my goodies arrive?

On average, once your payment has cleared, you should recieve your goodies within:

5 and 21 days total for FCR (First Class Recorded Delivery)
7 and 21 days total for SCR (Second Class Recorded Delivery)
11 and 28 days for all Ireland and European destination packages (via International Recorded Airmail)
14 and 28 days for all other destination packages (via Interantional Recorded Airmail)

Special Delivery packages are GUARENTED to arrive within 3 business days.

Any package that has not been delivered within the maximum specified time frame will qualifty for compensation up to £36.00 (or the invoice value, whcihever is the lesser). While it is extremely rare that a package will take the maximum time frame to arrvie, we ask that you bear in mind that once dispatched, dinkybox has no control over the actual delivery time and like our customers, our hands are tied until the maximum amount of days specified for dleivery have passed. Sorry, but there is nothing we can do about longer than average delivery times and while this is rare, we would strongly recommend opting for Special Delivery if you need your goodies before the maximum delivery timescale that is specified.

AnyUK destination goodies reuqired as a gift or in a rush should be posted via SPECAIL DELIVERY as this is the ONLY postage option which provides a guareneed delivery date.

A refund or replacement CANNOT be made until the maximum time allowance has passed. This is the terms and conditions applied by the ROYAL MAIL and not by us. Once dispatched our hands are tied until the maximum time allowance has passed. Sorry.

ALL PAKCAGES are posted in the most secure packaging materials possible, We use double walled cardboard boxes for all non-paper based goodies with a thickness greater than 25mm. Paper goodies are mailed via extra strong carded envelopes. Non-paper based goodies with a thickness less than 25mm have the option of being posted via a jiffy bag. This is only suited to items such as pens, nibs and a few other art based goodies. The choice of a jiffy bag or box (where appropriate) is entirely yours and can be selected at checkout.

All of our boxes, Kraft paper and carded envelopes are recyclable :)







What are your tax charges?


As with most things within the UK, tax is included at the (current) standard rate of 15% where applicable. Sorry, but we cannot offer a VAT refund to overseas customers.





How secure is my credit card?


We take credit card security extremely seriously here at dinkybox. As such we do not process any credit card payments via our site, instead we employ the services of a respected and professional third party payment processing company, namely 'PROTX'. If you would like further information on PROTX please visit: http://www.protx.com/aboutus.asp

Once you proceed through our checkout pages, you will be asked to choose a method of payment. If you opt to pay us via a credit card you will be taken to the PROTX website where your credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site. In addition, all credit card payments must pass 3D secure processing which further protects your credit card from fraudulent use.






Do you offer any sort of Guarantee?


Wherever possible we carefully check all goodies prior to dispatch to ensure full satisfaction upon arrival. Should you find that your goodie arrived in a damaged state we guarantee to resolve the issue as pleasantly and as quickly as possible either by supplying a replacement goodie or via a full refund. In both cases we respectfully ask that you return the faulty goodie to us prior to any replacement or refund taking place. All faults must be notified to us within 24 hours of receipt of your delivery. Please note that all sales are final unless a goodie is found to be faulty. Do you share my email and other personal information?

NO. ABSOLUTELY NOT!
Here at dinkybox we NEVER ever pass on any of the information that we receive from you. dinkybox does not disclose buyers' information to third parties other than when order details are processed as part of the order fulfilment (i.e. via PayPal/Protx). In this case, the third party will not disclose any of the details to any other third party.

Cookies are used on our shopping site to keep track of the goodies you have popped into your box, to store delivery addresses if the address book is used and to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' Option. You can turn off cookies within your browser by going to 'Tools | Internet Options | Privacy' and selecting to block cookies. If you turn off cookies, you will be unable to place orders or benefit from the other features that use cookies. Data collected by this site is only ever used to:

1. Take and fulfil customer orders
2. Administer and enhance the site and service
3. Only disclose information to third-parties for goods delivery purposes

Once again, your information (including your email address) is NEVER passed on to anyone except for the purpose of receiving payment via PayPal/Protx in which case these companies will never pass on your information either :)







Do you have a returns policy?


Yes. If your goodie(s) arrive in a damaged or broken state we will happily supply a replacement wherever possible. However this is extremely rare as it is our policy to check all goodies (wherever possible) prior to dispatch to ensure a happy customer :) If you receive a faulty goodie, we ask that you email us as soon as possible and ideally, upon receipt of your delivery. If a replacement is not available we will offer either a credit note or a full refund. Please note that we can only accept a goodie for return if it is faulty. A change of mind cannot be returned so please make sure the goodie is the goodie you want before purchasing :)

We respectfully ask that you return the faulty goodie to us prior to any replacement or refund taking place. All faults must be notified to us within 24 hours of receipt of your delivery. ALL returns must be agreed BEFORE sending the goodie back to us. ALL goodies must be returned via RECRDED DELIVERY and packaged in the same level of protective material as they were received.
