Cinefex
The chance to start offering Cinefex was just something we couldn't pass up. We've been fans of the ultimate SFX magazine since issue 1 when it was all a bit more rubber bands and ply wood than today's CGi-fests but it's still as fascinating as ever. If you've got any sort of interest in how effects films are put together it's a must read.

Cute Dolls/Cute Stuff

Aranzi Aronzo is a company run by Mrs.Saito and Ms.Yomura. The company catch phrase is "cute, strange, cool, silly, a little bit horrible, stupid and comfortable'. Not quite as catchy as 'Nice to see you, to see you nice' but hey, it's about the goodies they produce and the style in which they are made which, for the most part can be described as kawaii, meaning 'Japanese cute' which the toys in both of these English text books certainly are. Scarygirl

Scarygirl is a cute but slightly deformed little girl, who was abandoned late one night and later brought up by a friendly octopus and guided by a mystic rabbit. This catalog to Nathan Jurevicius's 2004 exhibition "Girls and Other Scary Things" at Outre Gallery is one of the very first monographs in the world focusing on vinyl as a new artistic medium. It includes beautiful, detailed photographs of Nathan's vinyl work, illustrations, and reproductions of his working sketches, plus an interview with Nathan conducted by Tim Crawford of Strangeco.
